but it is really hurtful to say that black excellence is only achieved through intellectual, artistic, and financial success? like it’s actually really fucking exclusionary to essentially say “sorry, this person didn’t display graduate from an ivy league school, they aren’t curing cancer, they aren’t a prima ballerina, so :)” when black excellence is really just daring to be unapologetically black and beautiful in a white supremacist society
